Menu Plan Monday

Like many other food blogs I am going to attempt to plan out for you on Monday's our Menu for the week, of course this is subject to change, especially since I don't know until Tuesday what I am getting in my CSA bag. And during the summer I try and plan menus around that. So here we go:
Monday
Margarita Chicken and Watermelon, Cucumber, and Jicama Salad
Tuesday
Burgers on the grill with all the fixin's
Green Salad (we get lettuce every week from our CSA so this isn't a stretch)
Roasted/BBQ potatoes
Wednesday
Chinese Chicken Salad (we got two beautiful heads of cabbage from our CSA and I am trying to use it all)
Thursday
Chick On a Stick with Hot and Smokey Baked Beans
Friday
Black beans and roasted corn tacos with chips and salsa (meatless meal) This meal could totally change if we end up going to a Zoo concert, will be more picnic style!

I am linking with I'm An Organizing Junkie if you do a Monday Menu Plan as well feel free to link to this page to share with everyone.

  1. This is perfect summer menu! I've never done the CSA and I think I need to.

  2. I would highly recommend a CSA, this is the second year we are doing it and I love it. It is a local farm, literally 10 minutes away from our house. Every Tuesday my daughter and I head out to the farm to pick up our bag for the week. It is a great outing, and I feel like we are really getting to know the farmers. They have fantastic recipes for all the things in our bag on a weekly basis, and we get updates on how the farm is doing!
I would suggest looking around though; we picked our CSA because it gave a wide variety of fruits and veggies. Some do just veggies; some even sometimes do meat and eggs! Here is a link to a good website to help you find one in your area: http://www.localharvest.org/csa/
They might be all full (we reserve our spot in February/March) but there might be a few available for this year if not there is always next year. It sometimes seems like a lot up front, but I paid back in Feb. so now it just feels like free food every week (plus it is local and organic)!
